FAQ
If you have a question/concern that is not addressed here, please call or e-mail us.
Q: Do you work on prototype projects?
A: Yes. We have an experienced team—from machine operators to management—who work on new (and complex) applications. We have developed a unique PROTOTYPE DELIVERY PROCESS (PDP) that engages a cross-function team of engineering, production, estimation, and quality assurance—addressing our customers new and mission-critical applications.
Q: Do you do large production runs?
A: While we have: a modern facility, effective cost management, productive processes, an experienced and efficient team—there are situations that call for our DUAL SOURCING MODEL (DSM). With DSM we produce the part at German Machine or source produce the part with one of our off-shore partners. Often this situation evolves after we’ve completed prototype work and shorter production runs, with the need to ramp up volume and related cost management scenarios.
Q: How can we be assured that you will delivery us quality parts?
A: It comes down to process and people. We have completed and maintain the stringent processes as required by ISO. We provide training for our organization at all positions and we have an attention to detail that you would expect. We have been told that we have one of the most experienced and effective quality assurance teams in our industry.
Q: How does your quoting/estimation process work? How responsive are you?
A: You can call us and send over information for us to estimate or use our EXPRESS ON-LINE process by easily completing the request and uploading any related prints. You requests are cataloged and assigned a response time target.
Q: What is the process for working with new customers?
A: We would encourage you to call or email us so we can explore how we can work together. Your call will be taken by a customer relations representative who will work with one of our representatives to ensure interest and expectations are met.
Q: Since we hear that operating costs in New York State are high, how can you assure us that you will be competitive in that environment?
A: This is a good question and is often asked, but is more of a perception when you consider all the factors that go into delivering the right intersection of cost, quality and delivery. We are in a designated economic zone with the related benefits, have a modern facility with a team of efficient production operators.
Q: What is your geographic area of customers coverage?
A: We primarily support customers East of the Mississippi, but have customers are far away as Canada, West Coast USA and Mexico.
Q: How do you work or team-up with other suppliers that we may have?
A: With the demands of today’s production we realize that teaming with partners is a critical aspect of our business. In many cases, one supplier can always meet the total needs of a customer/corporation. Other suppliers have cited our integrity, communications style and work process as the best they've seen.
Q: Do you conduct facility tours?
A: Yes. Each week we have several visitors and we strongly encourage all customers to schedule a visit, so they can see first-hand how we work.
Q: Does your production and engineering team visit customers?
A: Yes. Often our process begins with a blueprint for a new or existing part.We are often brought in for PARTS PRODUCTION REVIEWS & AUDITS. During these visits we often look for ways to speed up the process and take costs out of production. This is where our experience comes into play—a new shop and/or new operators may not consider some the options and have the history of solutions that German does.
